Welcome to the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court Jury Division

Thank you for being here to participate in a very important part of our system of justice.

How do I know if I have to come to Court for Jury Duty? What is the Code-A-Phone?

Starting on your first day of jury service and for the duration of your term, you will need to call the Jury Division’s Code-A-Phone at 505-841-8158 every day after 3:30 p.m. When you come to Court for your first day of Jury Duty, you will be assigned a group number. The Code-A-Phone is a recorded message that contains information about which group needs to come to Court on the next business day to report for Jury Duty. When calling the Code-A-Phone, you should listen for the day, date, group number, and report time. If you call the Code-A-Phone and do not hear your group number among those listed for the next business day, you do not need to report and should just call the Code-A-Phone again the next day after 3:30 PM. At any time, the Metropolitan Court has Jurors whose service terms may overlap with your term, so you may hear group numbers on the Code-A-Phone that are not listed on your Group Assignment Sheet. Do not concern yourself with other group numbers; you only need to report for Jury Duty when your group number is required to report. The Code-A-Phone tends to be very busy from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, so you may also visit our website and click on “Daily Juror Schedule” under the “Juror Information” tab for daily updates.
